Book of the Week: The Bean Book

Each week I like to pick a book that I have picked from my local library and share it with all of you.

One of my favorite things to do is to get recipe books from the library. Sure the photos may be amazing, but what does it actually taste like? I pick a recipe or two that I think represents the whole book and then I try them out. If they are good then I purchase the book.

This book was a lot of fun to read. Steve Sando is a complete bean geek and I learned more about beans than I ever thought I would need to know. I plan on trying his basic bean recipe. I’ve made refried beans lots of times in the Instapot, but he claims that beans cooked over a number of hours on the stove is far superior. We shall see! There are also lots of tasty bean recipes and he includes one I have been meaning to try from Smitten Kitchen called Pizza Beans.
